Andor | Official Trailer | Disney+

:grad:I believe this to be a way more carefully planned and designed background for the show than any other so far. And its all cinematic which creates high expectations and i cant lie im hyped for this one
This looks genuinely better than any of the other star wars shows - it's cinematic! I'm super excited for this one. I hope the show stays true to the serious and darker tone that the trailers presents.

and everybody is back , except for the girl:fil:

Why didn't they just do this one first, then Rogue One?
:nope2:nobody realized (including them) that ROGUE ONE was to surpass all of the Star Wars saga - to date!
(a relatively unknown cast and director) that equals if not exceeds the quality of what EMPIRE STRIKES BACK did.

:blush:in other words, yeah this prequel is a cash grab was made , so before the story go's stale. :facepalm3:

I found the characters to be relatable and likeable and was much more invested in their story than Rey, Poe, and the blaek guy.

it helps that there was real good casting and great acting, all the way around in that movie from top to bottom. And that the storyline was well thought out and conceived and not just off the cuff like the other crap DIsney put out.
I stand behind this movie that it equals ESB, if not better and more updated.

:kisses: I LOVE love this movie so much. For once it takes you outside the boundaries of the Skywalker saga, and suddenly you see what the rest of the galaxy went through -- their sacrifices, their uncertainties, their sheer faith in the face of utter devastation. The Skywalkers may have been the magical heroic chosen-ones for whom everything ultimately always turns out all right, but for everyone else there was nothing but death and destruction and the thinnest slivers of blind hope. I think it means everything that Jyn and Cassian never knew whether or not their message got through... and that the rebel fleet was nearly obliterated by the Empire... and that all those soldiers died just so one could maybe, maybe get the data through to Leia... and that even Leia sent her famous message to Obi-Wan Kenobi out into the void with no proof, and only belief, that it would get through. The main Star Wars movies are all high-flying action and heroes rising, but this movie shows the human cost, and the hardfought hope, behind the stories we know so well.

Firstly, I enjoyed the hell out of the original trilogy as a kid. Even watched that Ewoks movie over and over on cable in the 90's.

For Star Wars geeks out there, what is the current take on the product? Are there a lot of disgruntled ex-fans out there?

I'm a lifelong Wrestling fan and have a buddy that's big into Star Wars. We were just talking bout how both are now making more money then ever, yet both of us perceive that they are super serving the diehard fans, and running off those that may be new to both?

Anyone else got a take?

These 3 items in bold explain a LOT about you.

You know, it's not like it soooo good it cures cancer, but VERY solid. Great production values. What any SW series should aspire to be. Filoni and Favreau are true keepers of the flame. Now if we can just ditch Kathleen Kennedy.:rage:

This has a very slow build for me. I watched it over the T-giving break.
For me, it didn't really start getting interesting until jail.
I find the actor (Diego) very intense and interesting to watch.

Yeah he's actually been around a long time now. His frist "blip" on the radar was
:fil: he co-starred with Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall and I'm sure he's learned a lot since.

At what point? The first few episodes were slow as hell and extremely boring.
Not sure what to tell you. Maybe expectations are high and looking for a quick payoff? What people perceive as slow is story set-up. Why some books are 140 pages and others 400. At the end of the day most would find the finished story satisfying.

Fair enough. I'll try again.

This is very true and same thing with a lot of other movies and shows. I mean. you can say the same thing with BREAKING BAD. The action didn't really start till season 3.

Was Andor amazing?
Should I watch it?
No knead to do that now.
Disney+ channel just released a 15-minute recap of season-1 and it was a real good recap.
I stopped watching the season one because it got to be real boring with little action. The recap gets right into it.
I watched season-1 up until the last two eps and skipped it.
Here is season 02 teaser

Saw Guerera is there now and
Orson Krennic, the Death Star controller
K2SO makes an appearance

I just finished Andor, and holy shit, I'm still thinking about it. Soooo good. I skipped all of the other Star Wars garbage (and I'm a huge fan) because it lacked so much of what made the original good (or good TV in general). They thought if you just jam a bunch of Star Wars looking stuff in there, cameos, member berries, it will be good, canon and timeline be damned. Wrong.

Andor is the best Star Wars since the original trilogy. All without light sabers, Jedis, space battles, etc. Just epic writing, casting and acting. I'm not a film expert, but you can tell an actor from an ACTOR. This acting was off the charts. The production, the minimal use of green screen or that giant projection screen in background like Mando used.

Truly up there with some of the best TV of all time. It is now in my top five along with Br Ba and GOT

That's why I've rated ROGUE ONE as the best Star Wars movie of all time, it had surpassed Empire Strikes Back imo. :grad:
Andor is a prequel to ROGUE ONE and I believe the same people behind it, made it.

Disney states that ROGUE ONE is a stand-alone movie just like SOLO was/is. I strongly strongly disagree because the ending ties immediately to Episode IV: A New Hope.
:wut?:duh!!!
SOLO sucks by the way. :eyerolling:

YES, it was the same writing team! And at least with Andor, Kathleen Kennedy kept her taint off of it by giving writer Tony Gilroy complete creative control.
