Skenes won't be pitching in Phoenix this weekend but Chase Field is trying to beg Pittsburgh transplants to brave 110 degrees to buy an overpriced hot dog. Fail.

I lived in Pgh for 25 years and only once did I see fries on sandwiches and that was at Primantis. Maybe it's spread around since I last lived there in the mid 90's.

Tickets secured for Bay Area baseball next weekend. Had to pay $75 for A's tickets next Sunday. Reds tickets later in the week are $3 in comparison. I want to take in the dump in person but it appears Giants fans are braving Oakland for the final Bay Area series.

Is this the A’s last season in Oakland? I would like to go see a game there just because I find that giant abandoned former NFL stadium they play in to be fascinating

Yeah. We looked for overlapping schedule so we could see a game in Oakland and SF that fit our schedules. Unfortunately, I underestimated the demand for the final Giants @ A's series in Oakland. Prices are dirt cheap for every other series. I just want to visit the Coliseum and say I saw a game at that dump. Lot of history there.

Baseball trip to the Bay last weekend was a wee bit of a let down. Nothing was as bad as I hoped it would be. Coliseum is old but it wasn't that bad. Toilets worked. Seats were not in disrepair. I had my heart set on visiting a shit hole. BART stop was uneventful. The surrounding area was industrial wasteland but perfectly safe (at least before/after the game). No one was in a rush to of from the BART stop.

Oracle has to be near the top for ambiance. Hard to beat the environs for baseball. There was an adult with a baseball glove trying to out muscle kids for fly balls during BP. He kept yelling at himself "I shoulda had that one!". I don't think he was retarded or anything. Just a douche.

SF must have had a recent facelift. There was supposed to be a lot of shit on Mission near our hotel but everything was cleaned up. Saw only one encampment (by an overpass) on the SW side of town on the way to REI. They do have signs all over town about no leaving any valuables in your car but the no more homeless hordes than I've seen anywhere else. But, on the first day I did get to see a vagrant with no teeth threaten to stab a guy wearing lots of pot leaf clothing and he actually had a knife in hand. That was rad.

Giants have a dude that pitched submarine style. Don't see that much these days.

Im driving a bunch of students there this saturday for the game, I don't like going there because of the traffic it creates on 3rd and King. So I'll be dropping them off away from the stadium and telling them to just hoof it the rest of the way and I'll pick them up when it's over at the same spot.
Apparently the mayor has made good on her promise and has been cleaning up the homeless encampments. But all that its doing is shushing them from one place to another. Well, at least I stopped seeing bonfires on the road, so far.

Chapman at 36 has hit 104 this year.

"Joyce fired a 105.5 mph fastball to strike out Tommy Edman to end the top of the ninth of the Angels' 6-2, 10-inning loss, which was the fastest pitch thrown by any player this season and the third-fastest since pitch tracking began in 2008. Only lefty Aroldis Chapman has thrown harder pitches, reaching 105.8 mph in 2010 and 105.7 mph in ’16 -- but Joyce’s was the fastest pitch thrown on a strikeout." Bold mine

I wish Cashman and Boone would put their differences aside with this guy we need him

Ben Joyce and Garrett Crochet both pitched for University of Tennessee. Imagine just being an average college hitter and having to face shit like that. lol.

One out away from seeing a no-no in person Friday night. It would've been a combined effort and not a true no-no but would've been cool to see. Gunnar Henderson smashed a triple top on the 9th with 2 outs and fucked it up. Silver lining was snagging a ball during BP. Some asshole behind me botched the catch, the ball bounced off a seat and I snagged it before the ball fell into the bullpen.
