As requested by @ARM here is Gilbert in his 2nd appearance on his first episode of SNL 1980. His first appearance was him doing a Yiddish voice as "Leo Waxman" which wouldn't work for our purposes. This is the closest I've heard to his real voice from a few minutes of pulling the episode and skimming through the clips. He seems to be in-between what we hear on Stern and his normal voice. If anybody can tell me from this IMDB listing which character is closest to his real voice, I will pull it.

I truly believe Gilbert was banned from the HSS after Gilbert called Obama an "N".
That was the last time I ever heard Gilbert on.

Gilbert was banned for the same reason all of Howard’s old comedian guests were banned (Craig Gass, Artie, Levy, Yucko etc) Howard wanted to remake his image and become the schmoozer of the Hollywood A-list

Gwynneth Paltrow and Jen Aniston aren’t hanging out at pool parties in Malibu with a shock jock who laughs at Gilbert making jokes about the Holocaust while strippers are riding the sybian

My humble opinion - Gilbert , not one bit funny . Artie not funny. Artie and Gilbert together- hard to listen to . Jackie’s laugh- funny .
